Memorial Day Weekend Recipe Ideas

In honor of Memorial Day weekend, we’d love to share with you a couple of our absolute favorite recipes! We are thrilled to give you our hamburger buns and burgers recipes to enjoy with friends and family while celebrating. What better time than just before a long, holiday weekend?! We hope you enjoy cooking in your Round Grove Products’ wood-fired brick oven as much as we love cooking in ours. So, let’s get right to our recipes, shall we?

Try our hamburger and bun recipes this Memorial Day weekend! 

Hamburger Buns 

10 buns – 40 minutes – 450 degrees

Ingredients:

2 T instant yeast 
1 C & 2 T warm water (110-115 degrees) 
1/3 C oil
¼ C sugar 
1 egg 
1 tsp salt 
3 – 31/2 C all purpose flour 

Egg Wash: 1 egg & 1 T water (whisked) 

Directions:

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add oil and sugar. Let stand for 5 minutes. Add egg, salt, and enough flour to form a soft dough. Turn out dough onto floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic (approx. 3-5 minutes). Divide into 10 pieces and shape into balls. Space 3 inches apart on a tray lined with parchment paper. Cover tray with towel. Let rest for 10 minutes. Then, place dough balls into an oiled 12-inch round cast iron dish and let rinse until doubled in size or even with the top of the dish. Brush buns with egg wash. Bake at 450 degrees in your Round Grove Products wood-fired brick oven for 14-16 minutes. Rotate dish in oven as needed to evenly brown the tops.

Hamburgers

10 hamburgers – 6 to 8 minutes – 500 to 600 degrees 

Ingredients: 

3 lbs. hamburger 
½ tsp onion powder 
½ tsp celery salt 
½ tsp garlic salt 
2 C breadcrumbs 

Directions:

Mix ingredients. Separate into 10 even balls and press into patties. Lightly oil Tuscan grill top to help keep burgers from sticking. Place burgers on grill. Turn burgers after 3 minutes. Cook for another 3 to 4 minutes and check burger with a meat thermometer. [Medium rare should be 130 to 135 degrees. Medium should be 135 to 140 degrees. Medium well should be 145 to 160 degrees.] Let burgers rest covered for several minutes after cooking to retain even flavor and moisture.
